220 Parcels In Malungeni
What may have been the most complicated—and maybe most important—food distribution was just completed in Malungeni.
The economic and financial hardships we are experiencing in the United States are even more devastating in South Africa. Residents in the communities we support were not able to receive the food parcels as quickly as we wanted because of the threat of COVID19.
Under previous distribution guidelines and crowding, one “unprotected” volunteer or resident could have infected the entire community...So Arm in Arm in Africa provided the money for the materials so residents could make 1400 face masks first...And then once all the volunteers and the recipients could wear masks at the event, the distribution could begin.
And one special photograph says everything! This volunteer—our partner Jeffrey—wanted to make sure these residents know their “cousins” across the ocean are with them in spirit: Spreading food—without spreading the virus.
