On behalf of our ‘cousins’ in South Africa, we say a collective ENKOSI! THANK YOU!!. With your support of Arm in Arm in Africa’s ‘Together We Can’ fundraiser. We achieved our financial goal for this summer! We know there are many worthwhile causes in the marketplace, and we so appreciate you making AIAIA one that you support. We also value greatly the wonderful comments many of you forwarded about the evening's entertainment (NUNNABOVE), food and beverage (Afro Deli and Sociable Cider Werks), and, in particular, the life story offered by former food recipient Zinzi Jacobs, our featured speaker.
Speaking of Zinzi, a couple of wonderful events occurred as a result of her visit that evening. First, two generous supporters stepped forward and guaranteed the payment of her remaining licensing fees to earn the equivalent of her CPA in South Africa. Secondly, our board of directors voted unanimously to invite Zinzi to become our newest Board member and our third director based in South Africa. She'll be joining our Finance Committee and putting her skills to great use.
