Food Delivery Day In Malungeni
Our food delivery day in Malungeni was once again one of the most heartfelt days of our delegation visit.
We helped distribute necessary food parcels in two different locations (including neighboring itipani)…and served hot meals for community residents in rural Malungeni.
We feel all of the emotions when a child holds out their hands and says “thank you” for the plate of food…quickly swallows the meal you have given to them…and then quickly sneaks to the end of the line, hoping you didn’t realize that they ate once already.
This is a hunger most of us will never know.
The hot meal lasts a few hours…the parcel stack of food for families lasts for one to two months.
Most of the people who live here, do not receive the food parcels…there are far more people in need than what our organization can provide— despite the fact that these food distributions are our largest expenditure from year to year.
We provide about 500 of these parcels each quarter through several communities and organizations.
…And every smile and thank you is another small victory in our goal of making a difference for our “cousins”.
