Day Five

St. Hilda Community of England (Peace Prayer) Photo Feb 21, 12 49 09 AMBrothers and sisters, be at peace, We meet together to share this meal, May  it express our love for one another, Our commitment to each other And point us beyond ourselves To the needs of the world. God make peace within us. Let us claim it. God, make peace between us. Let us share it. Amen   Photo Feb 20, 10 53 11 PMIt is Sunday morning, it is time to go to church! We had the pleasure of rejoining our family at JLZwane Presbyterian Community in Gugulethu for their annual fundraising Sunday. The community is divided into 18  geographic zones and spend an entire year competing amongst one another to raise much needed funding for their church ministries.  The zones are very innovative and passionate about their fundraising efforts. Many of the programs and ministries are dependent on this fundraiser. In a community where so many have so little financial resources, the true wealth is in their pride in their religious family. Photo Feb 21, 12 46 37 AMThe acknowledgement of their efforts is seen in the trophies that are awarded to the top six zones. In one of the photos posted here are the children anticipating the awards while looking at their reflection in the trophy. In our closing prayer and blessing Father Cassidy acknowledged the courage of all the women present, but in particular lifting up in prayer the senior women in the congregation.  It was important to acknowledge their faith, wisdom and leadership not only in their families but in this community.   Our time in Cape Town is beginning to draw to a close.  We have one more day to prepare for the next part of the journey which will take us into the Transkei, "Eastern Cape."  We look forward to seeing our friends in Malungeni. Thank you for your thoughts, support and prayers. It our pleasure to share this journey with you through the AIAIA web site. Please feel free to share this with friends. Peace and blessings to you, The 2015 delegation
