Day Thirteen
Quote by Nelson Mandela: "No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” [divider scroll_text="SCROLL_TEXT"] Day Thirteen With the recent passing of the world's beloved Nelson Mandela, we find his energy and spirit alive throughout South Africa. Our destination today was the Nelson Mandela Capture site and museum near Pietermaritzburg where Mandela was arrested in 1962 for his anti-apartheid activities. The museum is a powerful tribute and history of his life from boyhood, through his struggles against racial segregation and discrimination, a 27 year prison term and his election as President of the nation. The sculpture by artist, Jeremy Rose, looks from a distance like tall black iron posts, but upon approach it becomes the profile of Nelson Mandela. Just as the image of Mandela becomes clearer as we walk closer to the sculpture, our purpose to love and to forgive will become clearer in our lives. Peace, The 2014 Delegation
