Father Michael Lapsley

Father Michael Lapsley from Cape Town, South Africa was in the Twin Cities recently.  Fr. Michael, an Anglican priest, was very involved in the anti-aparthied movement in South Africa and exiled to Zimbabwe when he was gravely injured by a mail bomb in 1990.  The accident caused him to lose both arms and the sight in one eye. From the attack Fr. Michael discovered a new vocation to become a wounded healer, drawing on his own experience to promote the healing of other human beings who have been affected by violence and trauma by forming the Healing of Memories Institute in South Africa.  The program now conducts healing workshops all over the world.  To read more about the program in North America, go to http://na.healing-memories.org.
