New Food Distribution
The Arm In Arm In Africa Board has unanimously approved new food distribution for 100 families in the township of Gugulethu, a community of approximately 360,000 families. The first distribution of the food parcels was in February of this year when the AIAIA delegation was making their yearly visit to South Africa. Those families that were selected from within their own community are primarily senior citizens that are in need of food for their extended family members. Those that are benefiting immediately from the food parcels are the children that are attending the Rainbow School tutoring program at the JLSwane Centre, as well as the Fun Learning for Youth (FLY) program, a tutoring program focused on high school students. The newly instituted food distribution program will be provided four times a year. AIAIA is proud to partner with our families in Gugulethu for our most recent food distribution program.
