Sunday - Celebration of 25 Years as Family

We shared a beautiful Sunday service at JL Zwane church today; we clapped, swayed, sang, and danced together in praise and in celebration of AIAIA’s 25 year relationship with JL Zwane. People gathered wearing their brightest and most special outfits to honor our reconnection, commitment, and shared community. Reverend Matya and Jim spoke of the memories and stories of our journey and Ed Luterbach, board chair, shared AIAIA’s hopes for the future, one of increased self sufficiency and greater empowerment.

Our week in Cape Town has been bursting with joyful reunions and meaningful experiences. We are filled with gratitude for all those who welcomed and embraced us whole heartedly; we’ll hold these memories and connections close as we depart for Malungeni eager to reunite with our cousins who await us. 

Jim Cassidy was presented with a 25th year anniversary certificate by our dear counterparts and friends Bongi and Sakhele.
