Rural communities around South Africa often encounter transportation challenges, long lines at local health clinics, staff shortages, and limited services.

The Department of Health will assist communities with Pop-Up clinics on request but struggle with accessing the necessary equipment to meet the health needs of those they serve.

AIAIA funding supported the purchase of needed medical equipment to allow the Department of Health to collaborate with rural communities in the Malungeni area on the eastern cape to host Pop-Up clinics to better meet the health and well-being needs of rural residents.
