Wishful Thinking

In his book, Wishful Thinking, Frederick Buechner writes that-

"God might describe grace something like this; 'Here is your life. You might never have been, but you are, because the party wouldn't have been complete without you. Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don't be afraid. I am with you. Nothing can separate us. It's for you I created the universe. I love you. There's only one catch. Like any other gift, the gift of grace can be yours only if you'll reach out and take it"

The AIAIA delegation continues to prepare for our return to Minnesota in a few days. On behalf of this year's delegation, I want to express our collective appreciation and gratitude for the amazing gift of hospitality that has been extended to us over the past few weeks from our South African family. I offer this Earth Day Peace Prayer, not only for the beauty of your land, but for your hearts as well. "Creator God, thank you for the gift of beautiful planet Earth. May we share it as one global family and together commit to its holy healing! Give us compassion and peace; among nations, within communities, and in our families. We are the earth become conscious!
