A Message Of Gratitude

This past July 18 – International Mandela Day – AIAIA celebrated its 20th anniversary with a virtual fundraiser we called ‘Arm in Arm in Action.’ In case you missed it, you can still see the entire show. Go to (www.aiaia.org/blog/arminarminaction) and enjoy a 60-minute history and entertainment show, co-hosted by Christopher Hermann and T Mychael Rambo. You’ll see Arm in Arm at work and meet many of our South African family as they share their musical talents.

Thanks to many of you reading this newsletter, our family in South Africa will receive an extra boost in emergency food parcels because of your generosity. We raised $155,000, with net proceeds of $140,000. Some of the proceeds will help us deliver an unplanned holiday food distribution to more than 900 households through 11 new partnerships identified by our Food Committee.

One of the most amazing aspects of our fundraiser was all the new supporters you introduced to us. Nearly two-thirds of contributors were new to Arm in Arm!

And they came from everywhere:

  • U.S.: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, Illinois, California, D.C., Indiana, Nebraska, West Virginia, Washington, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, Michigan, New Jersey, Virginia, Oregon, New York, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, Kansas, North Carolina, Arizona, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, Connecticut

  • International: Canada, Brazil, New South Wales

From the Board of Arm in Arm in Africa, our wonderful delegates over 20 visits, and, most importantly, our family in South Africa, we say “ENKOSI!”

Fr. Jim Cassidy will be speaking on Arm in Arm Sunday in SJA”s ‘virtual mass’ on Nov. 7-8. Please consider your ongoing support for our Healthcare and Education programs that Jim will speak.
