Reunited With Friends
Peace Prayer for Lent
“He came to bring good news to the poor. This is why we come. He came to set the oppressed free. This is why we come. He came that we might know the freedom of being fully known and fully loved. This is why we come. Bless our Lenten journey, O God, and pour your peace upon us all.” Amen
Bringing closure to our third day of being reunited with friends and families in the townships. We spent more of our time today in what are considered the poorest, least developed communities in the urban setting of Cape Town. These are also the communities that are often referred to as informal, or illegal. The communities comprise a wide spectrum of ages and are often the first available “refuge” for migrating younger families seeking a better life compared to rural South Africa.
I again want to express my deepest gratitude to our friends back in the United States that remain committed to the “why we we come” to South Africa and the amazing financial support that you so faithfully provide to Arm In Arm In Africa over these last twenty three years. On behalf of all our families in the township communities, I say thank you.
